The new GMC HUMMER EV shocked the automotive industry with its Big Game reveal in 2020. Now, Landmark of Taylorville proudly introduces the ground-breaking GMC HUMMER EV, coming very soon to our lot. After more than ten years after stopping production, the GMC HUMMER EV returns in an entirely new way. Before discontinuing near 2010, Illinois drivers might have known the GMC HUMMER as a “gas-guzzler,” but now the HUMMER EV runs entirely on electricity. After all, the “EV” in its name stands for “electric vehicle.” The Landmark of Taylorville sales department eagerly awaits its arrival. Let’s discuss what we love about the new GMC HUMMER EV.

GMC HUMMER EV Trim Levels

Depending on which trim level you’re interested in determines when the GMC HUMMER EV becomes available. For example:

  • Available Fall 2021: HUMMER EV Edition 1
  • Available Fall 2022: HUMMER EV 3X
  • Available Spring 2023: HUMMER EV 2X
  • Available Spring 2024: HUMMER EV 2

There are subtle but profound differences in the HUMMER EV trim levels. The HUMMER EV Edition 1 has three motors, an estimated range of 350 miles, 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 pound-feet of torque, and goes 0-60 mph in approximately three seconds. The HUMMER EV 3X, available Fall 2022, also has three motors, an estimated range of 300 miles, 800 horsepower, and 9,500 pound-feet of torque.

The HUMMER EV 2X offers two motors, an estimated range of 300 miles, 625 horsepower, and 7,400 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, the HUMMER EV 2 also has two motors, an estimated range of 250 miles, 625 horsepower, and 7,400 pound-feet of torque. While the later version might not seem as powerful as the HUMMER EV Edition 1, Taylorville drivers should keep in mind that the average pickup truck has a horsepower of anywhere from 200 – 600. Regardless of the trim level, the HUMMER EV pickup truck packs a punch.

Performance

Virden drivers can expect futuristic safety features, like passing a car automatically, with no need to steer. The HUMMER EV offers customizable driver modes for optimal performance on any terrain. Chatham drivers will find 18-inch wheels with specialized 35-inch tires, with the option to go up to 37-inch tires for adventurous drivers.

Perhaps some of the most futuristic features include Ultra Vision, which provides up to 18 cameras around the exterior body – including underneath. Under the HUMMER EV, drivers will find Underbody Armor, which helps protect the body’s integrity. Additionally, the HUMMER EV offers Crabwalk, which allows the tires to rotate and drive diagonally at a low speed for a period of time. This HUMMER EV pickup truck is unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Interior Luxury

The new HUMMER EV reimagines the future of pickup trucks. Now more than ever, Springfield drivers search for a combination of capability and luxury in GMC trucks. Inside, Decatur drivers can expect luxurious materials for ultimate comfort. The GMC brand explains that the night sky and otherworldliness of the night sky inspired the entire interior design – and it shows. The decals inside and out feature dual colors often found in the night sky – grey, tan, and black.  The new HUMMER EV has a 14-speaker Bose® audio system. The 13.4-inch touchscreen displays climate control options, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™ compatibility. The digital driver display shows important information to the driver, like the odometer and speedometer. It measures at 12.3-inches. These two screens make up most of the interior control panels, giving the HUMMER EV a polished look.

Gazing up at the night sky presents the HUMMER EV’s Infinity Roof, made up of removable glass panels. Chatham drivers can easily remove the glass panels and place them comfortably in the HUMMER EV’s “frunk” area or the hood. The frunk is where the engine would be if it had a typical gas engine, but nothing about the HUMMER EV is typical.
